BC Shellfish Festival June 17 - 18, 2011
Newly renamed, the BC Shellfish Festival will bring chefs, Vancouver Island wine makers, brewmasters, and shellfish lovers to the Comox Valley.

Friday, June 17: 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm, Filberg Heritage Lodge & Park
200 guests will be treated to a gourmet 6-course seafood supper prepared by some of B.C.'s top chefs with a cash bar offering Comox Valley wines and beer (Phillips Brewery). Live music accompanies the meal served under a tent along the banks of Baynes Sound. Chefs Robert Clark of C Restaurant and Executive Chef Andrew Stigant from Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community are on board to date. Tickets: $120. including wine during dinner.

June 18th: Festival Day, Comox Marina Park, 12:00 noon - 10:00 pm
Opening ceremonies, 3 live bands, the BC Oyster Shucking Championship (winner given a place at the Canadian Oyster Shucking Championship in Charlottetown, PEI in September 2011 - including airfare, accommodations and potentially some spending money; 2nd and 3rd Place awarded cash prizes), Comox Valley's Best Chowder Competition with shellfish cooking classes and demos under the tent and around town in Valley restaurants. Food tickets between $4 - $7 . This wil be a licensed event with two beer bars operated by Phillips Brewery.

Many other activities over the weekend in the Comox Valley will keep visitors busy. Weekend packages will be available for accommodation, tours, and more. Please stay tuned.

Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival

September 14-18, 2011
The 2011 Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival is presenting five NEW major festival events in addition to our traditional weekend celebration. Designed as a self-explore experience, visitors are encouraged to pick up or download a festival map before sipping and tasting their way through the Cowichan. All 26 festival participants will have something special going on over five days, and most daytime activities are free of charge. Visitors can
also choose to purchase tickets to the festival participants’ events on Thursday through Sunday. Ticketed events range from $25 to $225 per person and in size from dinners for 24 to parties of up to 200. Reservations
required and tickets are limited.
